The first time I made this was last week. I threw together a bunch of ingredients, and twenty minutes later my house smelled like Christmas and I was eating the best granola I've ever had (no, seriously). Surely, I figured, I wouldn't be able to recreate such a masterpiece.
Today I tried again. And the masterpiece was recreated, my craving for something crunchy was satisfied, and now I'm happy to share it all with you.

Here's what I did:
Preheat the oven to 350. In a large mixing bowl, throw all the ingredients together:
-oatmeal
-chopped dates
-chopped almonds
-sesame seeds
-coconut flakes
-flax seed
-chia seeds
-a scoop of almond butter
-2 egg whites
-dark chocolate chips
-1 heaping scoop of chocolate whey protein powder (optional)
(Really, there are no rules- put in what you love.)
Stir it all together, then add some water. Just put a little water in, and gently stir. The mixture should kind of ball up a bit. Add more water if necessary- but be careful not to add too much- you don't want it like cookie batter- you want it drier.
Spread on a baking sheet and put it in the over for 10 minutes. Using a spatula, flip the granola and bake for ten more minutes.
Eat, and enjoy!
