Oh, Cobbler's Pose, you are so weird. So beneficial (fantastic for runners as it stretches the feet and ankles, and for people who sit for long periods of time because it stretches the hips), but so weird. The thing that throws people off is the fact that you're supposed to peel open the feet like a book.

I know, I know. It sounds really weird, but don't overthink it. Just keep actively reaching the tops of the feet toward the ground and breathe into any areas of tightness in the feet and hips as you bring the body forward. The video below might give a bit more clarification, too.
This is one of those poses that doesn't look particularly difficult but can be really challenging. The biggest tips I can offer are to keep the chest open and the upper body long. To do this, actively pull the shoulders back, which will broaden the chest and elongate the spine. Ta da!
